Ingredients
3 lbs pears
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup brandy
2 Tbs butter
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
Directions
  1. Peel and core the pears. Cut each into eighths.
  2. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker, and stir to combine. Turn slow cooker to high.
  3. Place two skewers or chopsticks on top of the slow cooker, and place the lid on top. The lid will need to vent while the fruit cooks.
  4. Cook for 5 hours (stirring every hour) until fruit is a thick, spreadable consistency. Take off the lid, and let the fruit cool in the slow cooker.
  5. Use an immersion blender or food processor to puree to desired consistency. You can also leave it chunky.
  6. Transfer to a sealed container to refrigerate or freeze.
